Background
Nestled in the ancient imperial city of Hue, sitting in a historic building overlooking the Perfume River, Le Cercle Hue (formerly Le Cercle Sportif) is one of the premier dining establishments in Central Vietnam. With a cosmopolitan menu highlighting the stunning local produce of Central Vietnam, it is truly a destination restaurant. Our job was simply to capture and communicate their beautiful food, and one-of-a-kind setting.

Problem
A new menu and refurbished exteriors put much of the legacy assets owned by Le Cercle Hue out of date. But this was more than an update, because this stunning venue had never before had photography worthy of the dishes they served, or videography that captured the magnificence of their historic building overlooking the slowly flowing river. To accomplish this, Fourdozen mobilized our Hanoi-based team of creatives and traveled to Hue with our lights, drones, backdrops and cameras.
One intensive shooting week later, and we had captured every corner of the beautiful space, and ever angle of their intricate dishes. By allowing our creative team, including our photographer and videographer, to work directly with the chefs we could better understand the story behind each plate, and the best way to highlight their stunning ingredients.
Some of our projects involve a lot of strategic work behind a desk—and don’t get us wrong, we love those. But there is something to be said for a project that is accomplished almost entirely on our feet, with a camera in our hands, and a drone buzzing above. No work more physically exhausting. And no work more rewarding.
