Background
Vietnam Art Collection (VAC) is a combination gallery and community space that gives local artists a place to display their work, and connect with other masters of their craft. Owned and operated by artists with a passion for community, it is truly a client that any agency of creatives would die to have.
Our Approach
Being asked to create art on behalf of artists was our unique privilege. Given that VAC displays art from a range of artists in different media, it was important to us that we not create a visual identity that was limiting—embracing one aesthetic at the expense of others. We wanted a single visual identity for VAC, entirely distinct from the many different visual forms and expressions that they hosted.
Fourdozen accomplished this by putting our own artists in charge. An entirely designer-driven process, we gave our team access to the space and the creators, letting them understand from the inside-out what makes VAC so special. The result is a clean, fun visual identity that looks as good on logos as it does on stationary, business cards or posters. Art for artists. If only all projects could be like this.
